Rescue was formulated for people experiencing constipation. 

In Traditional Chinese Medicine this is seen as an internal imbalance, not just digestive issues with several patterns present. When Qi(energy) gets stuck due to Liver stagnation this leads to poor circulation or energy flow. A weak Spleen or Lung Qi creates fatigue or an imbalance of fluids in the GI tract, or an imbalance of Yin & Yang leading to excess internal heat which will dry out bowel movements.
