Joint Trauma

What is really causing your horse's soreness?

There are a wide variety of reasons your horse could be experiencing soreness from joint inflammation, cartilage damage, or soft tissue damage.

Understanding the source of your horse discomfort is the first step to helping not only relive pain but to target the root cause.

Our horses are constantly under stress, whether they are playing in the pasture, performing or experiencing an injury resulting in damage to the joint or soft tissue. Chinese herbs play an excellent role in helping to aid the healing.

While NSAIDS, Joint Injections or other therapies have their place, often time these are only being treated at a surface level. It is important to understand if your horse is experiencing inflammation in the joint, cartilage damage or if the supporting tissues are in spasm, strained or damaged that is causing there to be extra stress to the joint.

Where Does TCM Come In?

Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal formulas come in to address the areas that may not be supported and aid in recovery. When it comes to Joint Trauma, it is important to have a formula that addresses multiple factors such as:

➤ Improving the strength of our skeleton and connective tissues, strengthens the bones and muscles, heals injured and weakened tissues.
➤ Relieving the musculoskeletal pain by resolving stagnation and promote free flow of Qi.
➤ Remove dampness as well as soothe muscles and tendons to relax spasm.
➤ Promotes the movement of Qi and invigorates the blood, opens the Middle Jiao and unblocks the channels.
➤ Tonifies the liver and kidneys.
➤ Invigorates Qi/Blood by resolving stagnation and dispel blood stasis.
➤ Softens the Liver and relieves pain.
➤ Alleviates pain and reduces swelling.
